Ancestral connection is an aspect of many living cultures including indigenous, Asian and Western African traditions. It was part of your ancestors’ lives and it can easily become a part of your life and spiritual practice. Ancestral Lineage Healing addresses intergenerational trauma and offers many other benefits including a sense of belonging, support and love.
Unwell ancestors may be impacting your life through habits including addiction, poor health or difficult relationships to money. In self-improvement, we tend to focus on the wounds or burdens of our family, but Ancestral Lineage Healing allows us to access the blessings, talents and wisdom. Ancestral Lineage Healing challenges individualism and the sense that you must do all the work yourself. At the end of the process, you will have a lineage of well ancestors supporting you with love, vitality and wisdom.
The practice is rooted in earth-honouring traditions and promotes relationality. Cultural healing is one of the gifts of the practice which can address injustices including colonialism, racism and sexism. Healing and a liberation from the burdens of your ancestors offer the opportunity to face injustices with a clarity difficult to attain from places of denial or wounding.
The practice was developed by American psychologist Daniel Foor, and is informed by both tradition and contemporary psychology. Ancestral Lineage Healing is practiced with a concern for healthy boundaries and safety.
Done in one-hour sessions online or in person, you will be guided into ritual space to meet a guide and work with them over the
3 to 7 sessions it takes to heal a lineage. If you have no previous experience working with spirit, I can guide you to develop this skill and practice.
Specific knowledge about your ancestry is not necessary. Adoptees find the practice valuable. You will gain emotional, spiritual and historical insights about your lineages that is beyond what is available through records or family stories.
