Penfest Opening Ceremony

I created an opening event for the three-day 50th birthday celebration of Penny Van Der Sluys. The ceremony needed to ground people, bring them together in community and set the scene for the days ahead. To bless us with love, femininity and connection, I called in Venus. I asked Áine, Irish goddess of beauty, sovereignty and summer, to be present. And to connect us with the local land and to inspire creation, I called in Bunjal, the wedge-tailed creator god. Within minutes one of the participants pointed out three wedge-tailed eagles circling over us.
